Papyrus AI Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

Papyrus AI scans the letters that land in your mailbox, explains what they mean and what to do, and files them into folders so everything about one matter stays together. This policy explains what the app collects, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how you export or delete all of it.

1. What this policy covers

Papyrus AI is an iPhone app that scans the paper mail and documents you choose, explains them in plain language, files them into folders and answers your questions about them. This policy describes what the app collects, who processes it, how long it is kept and how you remove it. It sits alongside the general Neural Matrix privacy policy and takes precedence for anything specific to Papyrus AI.

Your documents are often sensitive, so we keep what we collect to what the app needs, we do not sell it, and you can export or delete all of it at any time.

2. What we collect

Account information: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code. Optionally a display name and the U.S. state you live in.

Your documents: the pages you scan with the camera, and the photos and PDFs you import. The text on each page is recognized on your device and sent with the page.

What Papyrus AI derives from them: the sender, dates, deadlines, amounts, a summary and an explanation of each document, the folders and sections it is filed in, to-dos, and the messages you exchange with Papyrus AI about a document.

Settings and usage: your explanation language, filing preferences, your plan, when a paid plan renews or ends, and how many scans you have used this month. We never see your payment card details; Apple handles payment.

Technical information: sign-in sessions and server logs. Our logs record events such as “document analyzed” with identifiers and timings; they never contain the content of your documents.

Appearance, app language and desk style are stored only on your device.

3. How we use it

To provide the service: read and explain your documents, file them, find deadlines, answer your questions and show everything back to you.

To sign you in, keep your account secure and apply the limits of your plan.

To keep the service running and fix problems.

We do not use your documents for advertising, we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

4. Artificial intelligence

To explain a document or answer a question about it, Papyrus AI sends the page images and their text to Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI models, through Anthropic’s commercial API. Anthropic processes this data to return the result to us.

Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models, and it is kept only for a limited period under Anthropic’s retention policy. Explanations are generated automatically and can be wrong; see the Papyrus AI Terms of Service.

5. Who processes your data for us

Railway (United States) hosts our servers, our database and the storage for your page images.

Anthropic provides the AI models described above.

Resend delivers sign-in codes to your email address.

Apple distributes the app and handles subscription payments.

RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription, identified by your Papyrus AI account id, so we can tell whether your Pro plan is active. It receives your App Store purchase records, not your documents.

These providers act on our instructions. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

6. How we protect it

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit with TLS.

Page images are kept in private storage. The app reaches them only through short-lived links issued for your own documents.

Every request is checked against your account, so one account can never read another’s documents.

Your sign-in session is kept in your device’s secure keychain.

Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the service, and we do not look at your documents unless you ask us to or it is needed to keep the service running.

7. How long we keep it

Your documents and everything derived from them stay until you delete them or your account.

Documents you move to the trash are deleted permanently after 120 days, or sooner if you delete them.

A data export you request is available for 24 hours and then deleted.

When you delete your account, your account and every document, folder, note and chat are removed from our database immediately, and the stored page images are removed shortly after, normally within a day.

8. Your choices and rights

Export: Settings › Privacy & data › Export my data gives you a file with every page and all the information we keep.

Delete: Settings › Privacy & data › Delete account deletes your account and all of your documents. You can also delete single documents at any time.

Correct: you can change your name, state and preferences in Settings.

Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. The export and delete functions above let you do this yourself; you can also contact us. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

9. Children

Papyrus AI is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.

11. Contact

For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected]. We respond within 5 business days. Neural Matrix is based in Texas, United States.
