Papyrus AI Terms of Service
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Papyrus AI explains the paper that lands in your mailbox and keeps it organized. It is an organization tool, not a substitute for a lawyer, accountant or doctor. These terms set out what that means for you.
1. What Papyrus AI does
Papyrus AI scans documents you choose, explains them in plain language, files them into folders, points out dates and amounts, and answers questions about them. It is a personal organization tool.
These terms govern your use of the Papyrus AI app and service. By creating an account or using Papyrus AI you agree to them. The Papyrus AI Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Not professional advice
Papyrus AI provides general information only. It is not legal, tax, financial or medical advice, and using it does not create an attorney–client or any other professional relationship.
For decisions that matter, such as court papers, tax notices, collections, immigration or medical matters, consult a qualified professional.
3. Accuracy
Explanations, summaries, deadlines and amounts are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Dates marked “estimated” are calculated, not printed on the document.
Always check important details, especially deadlines, against the original document and with the sender. You are responsible for the actions you take.
4. Your account
You need an email address you control to use Papyrus AI. Keep access to your email and device secure; you are responsible for activity in your account. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the documents you scan and the content you create. You give us permission to store, process and transmit that content, including through the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, only to provide Papyrus AI to you.
Only scan documents you are entitled to use.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Papyrus AI to break the law, to process other people’s documents without the right to do so, to interfere with or probe the service, or to try to access another person’s account or data.
7. Plans and subscriptions
The free plan includes 10 scans in any 30 days. Papyrus AI Pro raises this to 300 scans in any 30 days, a fair-use limit.
Pro is a subscription sold through the App Store under Apple’s terms: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm, it renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and you manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Deleting your Papyrus AI account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple.
8. Changes and availability
We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give you a reasonable chance to export your data. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
9. Disclaimers
Papyrus AI is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that its output will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for missed deadlines, penalties or losses that result from relying on Papyrus AI’s output.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Papyrus AI after a change means you accept it.
